Kits

Each kit includes all the components, PCBs and hardware required to build the kit. All kits are designed as far as possible to be hand soldered. Where it is not possible to avoid the use of SMD components, these are provided pre-soldered to daughter boards that can then be hand-soldered to the main board. In some cases (1206 and larger) SMD components may be provided for hand soldering.

All kits are designed to run from 9V-36V DC and 9V-24V AC and have power inputs that accept AC or DC.

What’s Included

  • All components
  • Enclosures, cable glands
  • Printed Circuit Boards
  • Hardware, including standoffs, screws, washers etc.
  • Micro-controllers are pre-programmed. This can be with the final program, or in some cases a USB/UART bootloader that allow the device to be programmed using a USB connection.

What’s not Included

There are certain things that are not included in the kit.

  • Solder - Electrical solder is not provided in any of the kits and needs to be supplied by the kit builder.
  • Hand Tools - Such as side cutters. soldering irons, screw drivers etc are not provided.
  • Specialised Tools - Including drills, taps, pop-riveters etc
  • Micro-controller programming tools.

In most cases kits that use micro-controllers the PCB will be designed to include a programming connection for the micro-controller. However the components for this connection are not supplied. (Normally 6-pin headers, RJ-11 or RJ-45 sockets)
